Local voice typing

Speak naturally. Get useful text.

TalkDo turns speech into clean dictation or a structured prompt in the Mac application you are already using.

Start dictating

  1. Focus a normal text field in your destination application.
  2. Hold Option Space and wait for the listening pill.
  3. Speak, then release the keys. TalkDo processes and inserts the text.

If the destination changes while TalkDo is working, the text is held safely in the menu instead of being pasted into the wrong place.

Two useful outputs

Clean Dictation

Removes genuine fillers and accidental repetition, fixes punctuation and sentence boundaries, and preserves your wording and meaning.

Prompt

On a supported Mac with Apple Intelligence enabled, organizes an unstructured request into a concise instruction while protecting requirements, negations, names, numbers, paths, and code. Otherwise, TalkDo safely returns Clean Dictation.

Every shortcut can be changed in Settings. Toggle recording is also available.

Technical text

App-aware protection recognizes terminals, coding tools, and editors. It preserves identifiers such as camelCase, snake_case, command flags, environment variables, paths, and filenames without changing your selected output.

Local speech engines

WhisperKit downloads a model once and then runs offline. Apple Speech runs only when macOS reports on-device support for the selected language; otherwise TalkDo asks you to select WhisperKit instead of allowing network recognition.

Nothing silently disappears

Private by design

Local production processing

The customer build contains no cloud processor, account, advertising, analytics, or tracking.

Your retention choice

Choose how long transcripts and failed recordings remain, or delete all TalkDo data from Settings.

Optional modules stay off

Clipboard memory and Capture do nothing until you explicitly enable them.

Visible microphone state

The floating pill appears while TalkDo records or processes and disappears when work completes.
